People hate emos because they are uninformed and unkind. I'm not emo but I know how they feel because I get called "emo" every day just because I have side bangs and just because I wear "punk" style clothes and just because I listen to rock, heavy metal, and screamo.

∙ 12y agobecause they don't understand anything and "emo" is a style of music and style. They are attractive and "normal" people are stupid if they don't like "emo's" because of the way they look.
It's pathetic the way people act when they're consumed with hate for a person who they don't even know.
I don't hate 'emo' people and usually avoid stereotyping others (everyone deserves to express themselves freely) but, as someone who suffers from depression, they kind of glamourize sadness and suicidal thoughts, which is quite offensive towards me and those who endure such horrible feelings. It's really insulting to get labeled 'emo' when you're trying to battle a real mental illness, it makes everything worse for some. Opinions of society can be dominating, especially if you're a teenager, but ignoring the haters with no life who aren't worth anyone's time could work. Try it :)
