Both Dexedrine and Adderall are amphetamine based products. Amphetamine is used from treating ADHD, narcolepsy, and in some cases extreme obesity. Dexedrine contains d-amphetamine (dextroamphetamine), while Adderall contains l-amphetamine (levoamphetamine) and d-amphetamine (dextroamphetamine). These two chemicals are both sides of the drug (d is the left, l is the right) and some find a mix of the two work better.

Hello! I have ADHD with anxiety/panic attacks. I would definitely discuss the side effect with the Dr. who Rx'ed AdderallXR to you! About 6+ years ago I was diagnosed with Adult ADHD and began taking AdderallXR. It worked extremely well yet usually wore off by 5 p.m. or so, when I'd still be at work. So my psychiatrist switched me to 'regular' Adderall (or Adderall Immediate-Release) to take in divided doses throughout the day. He also rx'ed me Klonopin years ago for extreme anxiety. It has been quite mild and one med does not seem to effect the other much; the Klonopin just makes me feel 'normal' or 'leveled' and not panicky or riddled with anxiety. I did take a short break years ago from Adderall--I switched to Ritalin. While at first it seemed to make me feel more calm than Adderall, I soon began to feel almost zombie-like on it; it also was not as effective for me and also led to very bad mood swings etc. Not for me! If your anxiety is extreme please discuss it with your Dr.!!! Best!

Yes. I have depression, social anxiety and adhd (the attention deficit type- not the hypermotor type). I have been prescribed both lexapro and Ritalin by my psychiatrist and feel infinitely better. Althought the initial doses had some side effects they went away and for now I only have slight headaches when the Ritalin wears off. I can concentrate on my school work (graduate level) and my participation has recently received recognition from both my peers and my professors. I feel soooo much better than I used to. Somehow after the Ritalin was added, my ability to focus on conversations has had a positive effect on my social anxiety. I can hold conversations without hearing everything else going on around me getting distracted and then embarrassed. I have no scientific information and the warnings reflect that an MD should be inquired prior to mixing the 2. (Mine suggested the combination)

Smoking Those Will Basically "Rape Your Lungs" So Just Stick To Orally Taking The Adderall. If You Want A Little Bit Of A Better Buzz From Adderall. Try Taking Tums With Your Adderall.
