Why do people say they are other girls out there or plenty more fish in the sea isn't the term only one woman for me in life or you like one woman then another etc then leads to affairs when married?

They saying "there are plenty more fish in the sea" is a encouraging term meant to bolster someone's spirit who has recently been dumped or has otherwise disengaged from a relationship. The philosophy is that you are "fishing" for the right person with whom to spend the rest of your life with. Your previous relationship was a "bite" on the "line" that is your life and your dating experience (or failed marriage perhaps) was like you struggling to reel in the fish. When you break up, divorce, etc, it's like the "fish" (your significant other) "got away". But don't worry, even though you could not catch that fish, there are still plenty of other possible candidates. This does not in any way promote promiscuity.

Liking one woman after another probably means that your "liking" is purely superficial and you are merely physically attracted to each "new and exciting" person. Supposedly when you find "The One" you will have a much more meaningful and deeper relationship. A successful marriage is where the couple is sex partners as well as best friends, confidants, and teammates.

Another explanation is you have a weakness when it comes to relationships. Either you have low esteem or that's just your personality, you quickly bond strongly to anyone that happens you way. This is pretty unlikely though.
