Amazon river's location in South America has a lot of heavy rainfall everyday because it is tropical and very wet environment. The heavy rainfall causes a lot of mud from the land to slip in the water, which causes the water to look very dirty and muddy.

because there is sand under the water and if you mix sand and water it makes the water appear muddy because grains of sand are so small. together it just looks like mud.
