Why do sites like WikiAnswers waste Internet space as they don't have solid answers for any of the questions you asked?

There are some debatable opinions below, I am addressing the "solid answers" concern.
Often times, the answers are solid - if it is possible for them to be. Matters of math, or verifiable historical facts, etc.
Other times, the questions only admit of subjective answers. We answer then as best we can, and if we're doing it right, present the majority views in as neutral a fashion as human foibles allow.
If one was truly all about solid answers, then besides asking solid questions, one would simply research the answers themselves, the way we often times do. Wikipedia is a good source. So are Encyclopedia sets. So are the text books that college professors assign - that go unread while we get asked the homework questions here.
Now follows those opinions as to the value of these sights:
(the first opinion was found to be inflammatory, I translate as follows)
"Wikianswers just wants visitors, and there are too many answer sites as it is."
(the second and contrary opinion is edited for grammar and spelling and phrasing)
Sorry to disagree, but when they said this website doesn't help they were wrong. It helped me pass my English class. I almost failed it, but someone told me to come on this website, and it helped me out a lot.
