Metal slotted handguards were used on the fully automatic M2 for better cooling. Some people now put them on M1 carbines simply because they like the look. They were never used on M1s in the military.
Da = (D1V1 + D2V2 + D3V3 + ..) / (V1 + V2 + V3 + ..) = (m1 + m2 + m3 + ..) / (V1 + V2 + V3 + ..), where Da is the alloy's overall density, Dx is the density of the given component metal, Vx is the volume of the given component metal, and mx is the mass of the given component metal.

The atomic mass of Lithium is equal to the weighted average of the two naturally occurring isotopes. Let M=the atomc mass of Lithium; M1=the mass of lithium-6;M2=the mass of Lithium-7; %a=the abundance of lithium-6; %b=the abundance of lithium-7. M=(M1*%a+M2*%b)/100 we know that %a and %b must add up to give us 100%, so %a=100-%b. Therefore M=(M1*(100-%b)+M2*%b)/100 Then we just need to solve for %b because everything else is known. M=(M1*100-M1*%b+M2*%b)/100-->M-M1=(-M1*%b+M2*%b)/100 100(M-M1)=(-M1*%b+M2*%b)-->%b=100(M-M1)/(M2-M1)=92.5% Then %a=100-%b=100-92.5=7.5%

One sixth of the original : Force = (mass) x (acceleration). So Acceleration = (Force)/(mass).So A1 = F1/m1 ; if F2 = .5*F1 and m2 = 3*m1. So A2 = F2/m2 = (.5*F1)/(3*m1) = (F1/m1)/6 = A1/6.
No, they weren't.
Non firing replica M1 and M1(A1) Carbines are made by Hudson, airsoft Carbines are Made by Marushin, they go for around $300.
IBM was one of the makers of M1 Carbines- along with companies that made postage meters and juke boxes.
No.
It should if it fits on other kinds of M1 Carbines.
All military M1 Carbines were made between 1941 and 1945.
M1 carbines are semi-automatic and M2s are full automatic.
Planefield
No. M1 carbines were made semi-auto only. M2 carbines had a selector lever for simi-automatic or full automatic. Iver Johnson never made M2 carbines.
Go to CMP to find M1 Garands and M1 Carbines. Also, go to http://www.m1garand.com, they will tell you everything...
Some of the early Iver Johnson M1 carbines were made of surplus G I parts. So some if not all parts interchange. The is true of the early M1 carbines made by Plainfield. Hope this helps. Keith
Possibly. There is mention of a black oxide finish on early carbines that resembled bluing more than Parkerizing. Winchester referred to it as Du-lite. All carbines were made with SOME blued parts.
