Some people earn more than they need and they save the excess intelligently. Hence, over a period of time they tend to have more money. In addition to earning more, some people put up their money in Stock Market and use their intelligence to ensure their money reaps good returns in a short span of time.
Also, some people run into personal tragedies that drain all of their savings or place them far into debt (such as a healthcare emergency such as a premature infant or needing a heart transplant). Intelligence sometimes makes the difference, and we should all learn to budget wisely, but it isn't the only factor, for sure.

They are more hard working and take control over the situation, rather than letting the situation take control over them. People making more money take advantage of their oppurtunities & will act in the field they have interest in. Rarely, will people come out to be rich by having good contacts. even if they do have contacts, they need to have the potential within to maintain a name they have created.
