Mine did this, and it was a wheel bearing that was bad. As soon as I replaced it, the lights went off and have stayed off. I went to a mechanic shop and they hooked it up to a special computer to see what it was. It costs about $35 to have it checked. The wheel bearing itself was anywhere from 89-329 depending on how good you want one to be.
sounds like a wheel speed sensor has gone out you will need ot replace the wheel bearing.
go have your car serviced at the dealership. they can fix it.
Usually the ABS and traction control off lights will come on
Both the traction system and ABS systems are automatic safety features that will come on in certain weather conditions. If you are driving on wet or slick roads you might see the lights come on because it is automatically assisting you to keep you from slipping around on the road. If the warning lights stay on all the time, the computer has detected a malfunction and set a trouble code.
If the vehicle has traction control, all the tires must be the same size. If one tire is smaller than the rest, yes the traction control light would come on.
These lights are probably all related. When there is a problem in the ABS system, this will disable the TRACTION system, which will inturn illumiinate the Service Vehicle Soon light. A common cause for this is there is a problem in the ABS. A faulty wheel speed senor or the harness to the sensor may be faulty. When the ABS computer (EBCM) sees a problem in the ABS, it can cause all these lights to come on. A scan of the ABS computer would be the first thing needed. Then, diagnosis of the system / circuit that is at fault would be needed. Tech JK -----------------------------------------------
If you shift into 2nd or lower gear the light will come on also if you are driving and lose traction the light will come on as well as a loss of power if this is not your problem then possibly your parking brake is not fully released
When you are within 500 feet of an oncoming vehicle or you come up behind a vehicle.
I'm thinking there's a problem with the ABS system somewhere. You'll have to take it to a mechanic with the proper diagnostic hardware to fix this one.
This is the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) also called Traction Control. The light will come on briefly when one or more of the tires on your vehicle loose traction. It will also come on and stay on if you turn the traction control off. If the traction control is on and the light stays lit all the time, then there is a problem with the system. Seek professional help.
It means there is a problem with your brakes, your anti-lock braking system, and/or your traction control system. I'd recommend seeing a qualified brake specialist and have the problem diagnosed. The lights come on when a problem is preventing the systems from working properly, which could cause a loss of control in wet or icy road condtions, or could prevent the ABS system from engaging in an emergency stop, which could cause your breaks to "lock up," reducing your control of the vehicle.
True.
