Your either not getting enough complex carbs in proportion to the amount of protein you consume at the same time and or you have burned off your glycogen stores in your muscle with more activity than your body is use to. Generally there is only 20 minutes of glucose / glycogen store in the muscles which get burned off quickly. Another thought that can make the process happen faster is low body fat to begin with. One last possibility is a body metabolism problem with protein in of itself or eating so little near starvation whether intentional or not. My best guess in most cases would be not enough complex carbs balanced with your protein intake and monitor your calorie intake to how active you are a swell. Even a moderately heavy person can get thirsty this way.
