This is no surprise to us. We believe this is a fulfillment of Jesus' own words, "If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you." (John 15:18, 19; see also 2 Timothy 3:12) We believe that the main source of this persecution is Satan the Devil, who is the unseen ruler of this world.-1 John 5:19; Rev. 12:17.
AnswerFrom personal experience, thankfully we are not under ban where our meetings are held here in the USA, but I feel for witnesses in other countries that have to endure such things. When I was a freshman in high school a schoolmate found out that I was a witness and I thought, "Wow, this is a wonderful opportunity to give a good witness and maybe teach him a little bit," but I was totally wrong. He turned around everything that I said and then he went as far as calling me Jehovah down the hallway, but I was able to endure and I actually felt stronger about my faith being able to put up with that.
Answer from an inactive/ disfellowedship witnessIt's actually a little sad but mainly it begins with differences and practices of a "different religion from mine." The internet holds SO many discussions on just this topic alone and gossip loves to get around especially now with rumors that "Jehovah Witnesses are a cult and I have proof." From a personal experience I always got teased because in the religion, we weren't allowed to have birthday parties, celebrate holidays or even host these kind of parties. People are just trying to be nice but when you explain to them this sometimes you get a sour response and sometimes because they see that you are brought up or believe in something completely different from someone else and some how that is weird or they have had the experience of a Jehovahs Witness always knocking on the door and bugging someone who doesn't want to be disturbed.
As for the attacking of a whole, it's the result of mere gossip and mislead information gets around and you see on television shows they make fun of the religion. Sometimes there is an argument about it or they have no idea why they do it, they just see someone making fun of a jehovahs witness and join in on the hate. Now not every single person practices the right and breaks a lot of the rules which of course gives Jehovah witnesses a bad name and that plays a big part in attacking the religion as a whole.
There can be many different reasons why this could happen.
In almost all instances it is usually because the Witnesses are making a stand for their faith by being peaceable with all men, preaching the Gospel, and putting God's commandments above any human government.
We're ok with it. No problems with it.
Witnesses try to have nothing to do with political or nationalistic celebrations.
It is viewed as fine.
No, they do not believe that.
I don't think any record keeping is kept of deaths of Jehovah's Witnesses so I would say unknown.
No, it's not. I'm one of Jehovah's Witnesses and I don't think it's wrong.
I don't think there are any. I would confirm.
I think it's Jehovah's witnesses.
The name Jehovah's Witness comes from the Bible. In Isaiah Jehovah told his people: 'You are my Witnesses' Followers use the name because they believe they are witnessing to others on behalf of Jehovah, much like one would in a court case. They think of themselves as character witnesses for Jehovah against Satan. Jehovah's Witnesses consider it important to share their religious beliefs with others. They also believe that living by their faith should be a way of life, as the bible says it was for Jesus and his disciples.
i think she's still one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Ask one of Jehovah's witnesses, they would know,I think.
They use the same Bible as mainstream Christians and believe in the same God. They believe the Bible God however not to be triune. Jehovah's Witnesses also think God values and wants declared his personal name (Jehovah (English)/Yahweh (Hebrew) and thus give the divine name, in its English form, prominence in their worship.
