Why do you think collecting fairy tales is important?
It is important because if you have kids you can show them the fairy tales that were in your time
no i don't think fairy tales should be read to children
I think that the positive effects of fairy tales to children is that children can improve their creativity, and fairy tales can give a lot of moral lessons.
i think Swizertland
what do u think
people think fairy tales should be baned because usually when you tell a child about princesses and fairies the will expect to become a magic fairy princess and all when life isn't like that and they will expect to much.
i think there is some truth in most of them or i hope
I think that is Thumbelina and I believe it is a Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale
Folktales and that's all really I think
Brothers Grimm (i think)
myths are like things that people think exist (the loch ness monster, Bigfoot) and fairy tales are stories of things that doesn't exist ( red riding hood, three little pigs)
depends if your the baddy or not. I cannot think of any fairy tales where the main characters have had a bad ending. It's probably due to the fact that fairy tales are aimed at young children and if it had a bad ending then it might distress them. ____ Actually, there are several fairy tales that have bad endings. The Gingerbread Man is one, and most versions of Chicken Little. If you go with… Read More

Popularity is somewhat relative, but seeing as the Cinderella story has been retold in hundreds, if not thousands of cultures, I would think that Cinderella is among the most popular fairy tales.
Yes, a fairy tale. Think about the elements. Witches, poison apples, dwarfs, mean step mom, handsome prince. All fairy tales have these things.
I admire those who have had the ability, the honesty, and the courage to search for truth, in a world in which many people prefer to believe in fairy tales.
The Brothers Grimm were Germans. none of their stories take place in what was then the American Colonial states. Few fairy tales ( or folk tales) have a democratic setting anyhow, preferring palaces, Kings, empires and such like) arguably the closest was Washington Irving"s Rip Van Winkle, who missed the Revolutionary War during his 20 year nap. That's the only one I can think of- Oz excepted, as that has a USA setting at least… Read More
Modern day fairy tales effect mostly teens. A lot of teenage girls want a relationship like in the books and fairy tales. But we all know it take a lot to ever get even close. A lot of girls think that a good relationship takes no work and is perfect and amazing. While once in a while this is true, most relationships take work and aren't perfect. Most girls that I have asked have agreed… Read More
The whimsical hats & exaggerated silhouettes of the 1800's seem to be influenced by fairtales - the very feminine shape (small waist, large bust) and elaborate decoration are fantastical, like fair tales. I think fairy tales have the biggest influence on formalwear at the moment. Teenage magazines talk about have a fairytale-perfect prom, and Haute Couture designer Franck Sorbier's Fall/Winter 2010/2011 collection featured a dress based on Peau D'Ane, a well-known french fairy tale.
Utopian literature works are written to support the idea of a utopia. Most fairy tales (think Disney) have Utopian endings, where everything is happier ever after.
It has to be about animals The animals have to have human characteristics There has to be a moral at the end Sorry, that's the only things I can think of ELIStudent
While the president has not said much about coin collecting, he has said a lot about education and about the importance of hobbies that are educational. Both stamp collecting and coin collecting teach about geography and about important historical figures, so the chances are, he would be in favor of such hobbies.
I think Philippine folklore is important because it serves as a way to teach the children of certain virtues that adults want them to learn. In addition, Folklore is more meaningful than fairy tales because it does not only teach children the acceptable moral values in the society it also reflects certain customs, traditions, and popular beliefs of Filipinos.
How should you make him understand that this is a real life and your relationship cannot be like the in fairy tales and movies?
Simply tell him. Love isn't like the fairy tales you read in books yet they CAN be quite similar in some ways. Not everything is going to happen in a perfect manner and he has to accept this reality that love isn't as easy and simple like in the movies. If he can't come to terms with this I think it's best if you move on.
The story is based off a German fairy tale, which was something many romantic works share in common (being based on fairy tales). Also, it is not until Tom Walker strolls through the SWAMP (think nature) that he is able to continue with his life and find "success".
Folk tales are traditional tales told in all pre-industrial societies. Folk tales may be stories of traditional heroes (Havelok, Roland, Robin Hood) or of semi-mythical creatures (elves, tokoloshe, djinn). The people who tell such stories do not particularly think of the stories as fictional: in many cases they actually believe the tales of Robin Hood, and that brownies sour milk left out at night, though sometimes they 'keep an open mind' on such matters. Fables… Read More
I think these characters are very important in The Nutcracker so all version probably have them in it.
For one we have people that do not live within their means. They think life is a magical place where everything revolves around them. We also have the knight in shining armour syndrome, where the girls believe everything that prince charming is telling them and get tossed over for the next beauty. Then we also have the truism of good and evil which I dont think classical fairy tales began but they sure do make… Read More
I remember fractured fairy tales from the Rocky and Bullwinkle show. I think a good senerio for the tale would be the attempt to cut out the middle-man in export and imports of grandma goodies and the attempts of middle-management to retain their jobs.
Using definition from the dictionary.com web page a folk tale is a tale or legend originating and traditional among a people or folk, esp. one forming part of the oral tradition of the common people, and a fairy tale is a story, usually for children, about elves, hobgoblins, dragons, fairies, or other magical creatures. The difference between the two seems to be that while fairy tales are specifically told for the benefit of children… Read More
Absolutely!!! any race can be any religion, as long as they are willing to not think for themselves and believe in fairy tales. Myself, I try to be good all year round so Santa brings me gifts at the end of the year.
Children's literature is harder to write than most people think. It has to be an interesting story without using words that the kids won't understand, and it has to help beginning readers improve their reading skills without being too frustrating or challenging. It's important because readers have to start somewhere! It's also important because many of the stories we think of as "children's" (like fairy tales and folklore) are the traditional stories that make up… Read More

Fairy tales have been around as long as man has had the ability to put pen to paper. 'Fairy tale' is a very broad term that can be used to describe lots of stories. For example, Cinderella is a fairy tale, but depending upon the mind of the reader, so is the Holy Bible. All fictional stories ever created were written by dreamers, by people that had or have normal lives, but like to think… Read More

7 is from the bible, perhaps from adding 3 (the heavenly number) with 4 (which represent earth somehow). If you think that the bible is a fairy tale, then the answer is yes. That 7 is considered to be special can be seen in many places. The week has 7 days, there are 7 continents, 7 seas and there are 7 colors. Although the exact number of continents depends on how you define that word… Read More

There are arguments for and against as is the case with Santa Claus. It is not healthy to overdoes in fantasy, and many Fairy Tales ( a better term is fantasy tales) have unhealthy doses of impossible situations, bad attitudes among characters, and a logical end-product, Violence, whether the violence is undone by counter-magic or super heroic acts is really not important, there is too much of it in many of them MNon violent problem… Read More
Dragon Tales is no longer in PBS Kids. So, I think you should get the Dragon Tales DVD.
You may be upset or relieved to hear that snow fairies are not real. They are characters in such fairy tales as Barbie or the Snow Queen. I hope this helped :) Another opinion: Snow fairies can live in your imagination, even though most grownups don't believe they are real. Your imagination can be a wonderful place for you to converse with them and think about them. The link below gives some ideas along those… Read More
