No it will not burn fuel like a V8. In fact just the opposite. Ford's theory on 2 plugs per cylinder is a more complete combustion with 2 plugs firing instead of 1. This is supposed to give better mileage and power. This engine is way underpowered for the Ranger, but does get good mileage. it has 2 plugs per cylander to get better ignition. now as it only has 4 and not 8 cylanders, it can only burn the fuel in 4 cylanders so no it will not burn fuel like an 8 cylander does
There are three engines available. If it's a 6 cylinder engine, 6 spark plugs. If it's the 4 cylinder engine, 8 spark plugs.
I think its a 94 , 4 cylinder.
If it is a Hemi - it has 16 Spark Plugs if it is a regular 8 cylinder it has 8 Spark Plugs
i have a 1988 ford ranger xlt 4 cylinder and my spark size is 42-46 hope this will help
The 2.5 liter 4 cylinder , that has Fords twin plug ignition system , takes ( 8 ) spark plugs
On a 2002 Ford Ranger : The 2.3 liter Dual Over Head Cam four cylinder engine has ( 4 spark plugs )
On a 2005 Ford Ranger : The 2.3 liter Dual Over Head Cam , four cylinder engine has : ( 4 spark plugs )
( 8 spark plugs ) for your 2001 Ford Ranger 2.5 liter 4 cylinder ( with Fords twin plug ignition system )
