check your Power Steering fluid make sure its not low.... It sounds like a CV joint(Constant Velocity) joint. Generally they replace the axle on the side the clicking sound is occuring. The CV joint has a rubber boot that wears and dirt gets inside and ruins everything. I used to live on a gravel road and had to replace a few on my front wheel drive vehicles. Hope this helps.
Noises are impossible to correctly diagnoise when not heard. Take it to a garage when it ts making the noise.
Yes , the 2.4 liter 4 cylinder in a 2002 Hyundai Sonata is an interference engine ( according to the Gates website - they make timing belts etc . )
It must be a timing CHAIN , because the Gates website ( they make timing belts etc . ) does not list a timing belt for the 3.3 liter V6 in a 2006 Hyundai Sonata
Check the fluid in the power steering. If it is low the car will make noise when you turn the wheel.

the steering wheel wont make the front wheels make noise as there is no generating source from the steering wheel. it will be the other way around.
Yes they can make a grinding noise, if they are bad.
Power steering or wheel bearing?
A grinding noise form a wheel is usually caused by a bad wheel bearing.
Make sure it is in park. if so and still won't come out try to disconnect the battery.
Yes, the black vinyl tape around the door frame on a 2007 Hyundai Sonata can be removed. It was placed there during the manufacturing process to make sure the seal around the door stayed in until the glue set.
