A "stay order" is a judicial order that halts or stops a legal proceeding or disposition (the out come of a criminal/civil matter). One could use this to their benefit if subpoenas or witness testimony has not been followed through yet.

A stay order also prevents the collection of a judgement in a civil suit. In these types or proceedings, it's generally stayed 10 days after a judgement has been entered.

The mother of my daughter is not letting me come pick her up for visits. Is this illegal?

If it is court ordered visitation she is breaking the order and that is breaking the law. You need to return to the court that issued the visitation order and file a motion for contempt of a court order. If she continues to interfere with your court ordered visitations she could eventually lose custody but you need to stay on top of the situation at court. If you don't have a visitation order then you need to establish your paternity legally and request a visitation schedule.

Can you marry someone who you have a restraining order against in Indiana?

Yes. However, the marriage would require the person to violate the order, opening themselves up to criminal liability. If you have a protective order against a person but decide you no longer want that person to stay away, you should return to the issuing court a petition to have the order withdrawn.
