The float and or the needle valve is stuck. Could also be rust or dirt in the needle valve keeping it open. try tapping the top front bowl of carb with a plastic mallet it free the float somtimes
Under the hood find the carburetor and the gas line leading into the carburetor and disconnect or cut it and try to start the car if when you start the car and gas squirts out its not the fuel pump but if it doesnt do anything it is your fuel pump
is it carburated or throttle body injected? try putting a little gas in the carburetor or throttle body or if you have no gas try starting fluid but if you have gas in a jug use that because starting fluid is hard on the pistons and valves. and see if itll start
It sounds like your fuel pump is bad. try taking the fuel line loose from the carb and turning it over. If no fuel comes out, replace the filter and try again. Still no fuel, replace the pump. You've got to get fuel to the carb.
put gas in the gas tank, then pour a table spoon of gas in the carbuator then try to start the engine while pumping the trottle
It is possibly the gas pump became damaged...ortry dropping some gas in the carburetor directly, then try to start it againAlso replace the fuel filter.
There's possibly several things going on. Change the sparkplugs, clean the carburetor with some carb cleaner. You'll have to take off the airfilter. Try starting the car. If it will not start pour high octane fuel into the carburetor. This will bypass the fuel pump. If it starts smooth you'll need to replace the fuel pump.
Try putting gas in carb and start or take out plug and put gas in put plug back in and try to start. If it tries to run or starts check fuel lines for blockages .If not check compression.
Sounds like it's not getting fuel. Could the tank be empty? Frozen or plugged fuel filter?
Try draining the gas tank completely and then Put new gas in with fuel stabilizer. Then spray starter fluid (wwd 40 works) into carburetor and start engine!! I hope this works if not then you might want to take it to a professional.
Check battery first for proper voltage. If battery is good and your engine will turn over, check for ignition spark through ignition cables to spark plugs. If you have spark, check for proper fuel pressure. If battery is good but engine will not crank, suspect either the starter, solenoid, or ignition switch. If your problem is not caused by one of these, consult a mechanic. Look to see if the carburetor is working correct, if so try putting some gas down the carburetor, NOT A LOT or you will make the biggest back fire u have ever seen coming out of the carburetor, if you put to much gas in the carburetor step back and try and start it. Do this after u have tryed the other suggestions from the first post..
get some gas and try to re-start
I have no idea why your carburetor leaks gas. For starters, I have no idea what type of engine you have. If it is a car, it is an old one since you do not have fuel injection. Maybe you should clean the grease and grime that has built up over the last 20 years off your carburetor and engine. Next, take a wrench, not a pair of pliers, and tighten the connections. They may have come loose. Now start your engine and try to see if you can tell where the gas might be leaking. Take the air filter off your carburetor. If it was not a loose connection and is not a leaking tube that you can replace then you have done all you can do and need to take it to a regular mechanic.
