The big bolt that holds it on must have came out of the crank.
in the front on side of the harmonic balancer
I have not taken one off a 74 specifically but every one I have done required a Gear Puller. The puller will bolt to the Harmonic Balancer and the center bolt sets on the head of the Crank Shaft bolt. As you turn the center bolt in it will pull the balancer off.
It could possibly be reverse threaded (right to loosen, left to tighten).
you could have a bad harmonic balancer on the front of the crankshaft. sometimes they are known to separate. also, really worn out u-joints in the driveshaft. Or a driveshaft that is bent or out of balance you could have a bad harmonic balancer on the front of the crankshaft. sometimes they are known to separate. also, really worn out u-joints in the driveshaft. Remove any bolt on pulleys, remove center bolt counterclockwise, remove the harmonic balancer with proper puller available for rent or sale at your local auto parts store.
timing marks should be on the harmonic balance.above harmonic balance should be a a flat metal pointer. the edge of this pointer will lign up with marks when being timed
engine light comes on and off. when light is on it hesitates and transmission slips. what could cause that on a 93 F150
If your check engine light is blinking with the engine running that is indicating a misfire - get your vehicle scanned for any trouble codes to diagnose and then repair the problem
VIN stands for Vehicle Identification Number. VIN already has the word "Number" in the acronym so you don't need to say "VIN number" the word "Number"is clearly superfluous. BTW, "N" stands for "Number" also in "PIN"
you can only check it and clearit with an OBDII diagnostic scaner
