Why does it appear that I'm gaining fat weight even though I'm running more than often as I train for a marathon?

When do you weigh yourself, before or after eating? I appear thicker after a good meal.
Are you sure it's not muscle mass alot of time the more running you do the "leaner" your muscles get which do possibly add weight to the body

Where can I get comfortable running shoes?
Out of all of the shoes I have bought in my lifetime I have always shopped at Dick's Sporting Goods. Personally I prefer to get cross training shoes over running shoes because they perform equal to, if not better than, running shoes. This completely depends on the type of running you do though. I would not recommend these shoes to cross country or marathon runners. In that case order custom shoes from Nike.com.
