There are several possibilities. The ignition timing may be wrong, or the carburettor needs to be adjusted or both. Another possibility is obstruction in a fuel line, that is a remote possibility though. Have the engine re-tuned and inspected as soon as possible.
The OBDII on a Toyota Tacoma 1998 is located on the driver side under the console right above the gas pedal... I should know I own a Tacoma 1998.
She pressed on the gas pedal to make the car go forward. He pressed on the sustain pedal while he played piano.
the clutch pedal
Short in the wiring or one of the tail light sockets is corroded or shorted out.
I've had this problem with my 2002 Toyota Tacoma Pre-Runner many times and I was told by a Toyota dealership that it may be the mass air sensor because they tend to corrode. I have a few friends with the same truck and they have the same problem. Unfortunately, if you want to replace it, it cost around $300.
I pressed the pedal to move faster in my car.
If you have rear drum brakes, you have to adjust your rear brake shoes. That will also give you a better pedal and more stopping power.
On my '84 21R engine it turned out to be the coil after much swapping & cussing.
This MIGHT be a sign that the clutch return spring is wearing out. I had to replace one on my Tacoma (part ~ $30) when it began to occasionally stick in a position about 2" shy of full return. The pedal (spring) also would make squeaking sounds from time to time. When it was in this (faltering) condition it did not compromise the clutch engagement, however, I was unable to activate the cruise control. You may have found (as did I) that a gentle pull of the left toe easily brought the pedal back in to position. Until you find the replacement part....
If the idle is set too high, and you have an automatic transmission, this will happen. A sticking throttle cable or rod can also do this.

The switch at the parking brake in the cab needs adjustment, just loosen the retaining nut and move it closer to the pedal then tighten.
