supposedly it drops down somehow>???
it could be the blower switch
The freon capacity is usually on a sticker under your hood butsometimes are missing and it will depend on whether or not you have rear AC on your model. On a 03 Windstar SEL without rear AC it takes 2lb 12oz if it has rear AC it takes 3lb 8oz.
Its located on the a/c accumulator which will be on the passengers side next to the firewall......
It depends on the size of can you purchase . According to Ford specs in your van holds 56 Oz total if you have front and rear AC units
My ac blows only in the defroster and not any of the other vents i have 98 ford windstar 3.8 v6
With AC pressure gauges and manifold assembly. This is best done by a professional.
If it is a factory ac the front and rear use the same ports. It just takes more freon for one with dual units
It is probably your AC clutch. Turn your blower position switch to vent.......If it stops then it was just the AC clutch. It will still cycle when the switch is in Defrost or AC. The reason for this is to allow the system to keep circulating in the winter when it is never being used. You know the old saying, if you don't use it you lose it.........................
Look under the hood on the passenger side for tubes that have black plastic screw on caps on them. The cap with an L on it is the low side where you refill the AC.
Possibly under the hood of the van in the main fuse box. big blue or black square fuse.
you probably need a new blower motorCheck the fuses too -See "Related Questions" below for more
