You might have a problem with the catalytic converter.
its the sensor in the tube going in to the throttle body from the air cleaner
This has happened on my 97 twice- it was the fuel pressure regulator.
my 1999 alero speedomter started going crazy too and they replaced the wheel speed sensor and it still does it must be a short in the wire.
It is located in the front of the engine, above the oil filter, next to the starter. Your going to have to remove the starter for easier access to the sensor.
Speed sensor needs to be replaced in the engine, look speed sensor up for your vehicle
When the signal lights are not working on a car, there are a couple of things that could be going on. One could be that the bulb needs to be replaced. The other possibility is that the signal relay needs to be replaced.
Ok. The O2 Sensor heater circuit has a fault, Usually a new sensor will fix it, yours did not. The next step is to do some diagnostics. There are a couple good youtube vids on how to check the sensor, just ype in the code #. If the sensor tests good then you have a wiring, computer, ground or power supply issue. To trace that down takes a wiring diagram and a couple hours. on a thirteen year old car I am going to bet broken wire. Good Luck

With my 05' trailblazer I determined that it was 2 things,my oxygen sensor and cat converter,my step father says that it is the cat converter and he is ASE cert. mechanic,but i replaced the cat,the smell went away,i replaced the sensor and the car works fine!
your 3rd to 4th shift sensor in your trans needs to be replaced.
After the airfilter housing , look for something plugged into the hose to the throttle body or the bottom of the filter housing , it should have two wires going to it.
