MY FRIENDS CAR DID THAT SAME THING. CHECK YOUR COOLANT LEVEL ITS PROBABLY EMPTY. YOU MAY HAVE A SLOW LEAK SOME WHERE. WHEN YOUR CAR IS RUNNING IT PULLS THE COOLANT THROUGH THE MOTOR IF YOU ARE LOW ON COOLANT, BUT NOT EMPTY YOUR AIR COULD TURN COLD. THEN WHEN YOU SHUT OFF YOUR CAR IT BUILDS BACK UP IN THE RADIATOR, SO WHEN YOU START IT AGIAN IT WILL HAVE ENOUGH FOR A WHILE UNTIL IT PULLS THROUGH THE ENGINE AGIAN. I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU.
the heater core has been flushed out. the antifreeze is full there is a new thermostat in it but it still does the same thing in the morning i have no heat at all. help please
The heater matrix could be blocked. Best option is to disconnect the two pipes going to the matrix, first finding the flow pipe (put your hand on the pipes to find the hottest one.) Once disconnected, backflush with a garden hose by putting it on the return pipe (the cooler one), and turn on the hose, flushing the matrix. Reconnect the hoses refill system.
You are in the beginning throws of blend door failure. Check www.heatertreater.net for more information on diagnosing and fixing the problem.
Hi, Same person who asked question, let me re-ask.Some facts first.Bought car in summer, so never tried heat till now. Dont know if I bought this car with an existing problem.Had leaky heater core, replaced heater core O-rings almost after buying car, never used heat before then.Dont know if heater core leaked onto ECM, located directly under Heater CoreI drive to work with the heat on 80. About 30 min later, the heat cuts out and blows cool air. I'll turn the heat up incrementally to which the heat comes back on, but only for a few minutes, and goes cold again. The only way I will have constant heat is if I max the heat out on 90. If I turn it down to 89, it will blow cool again. Please help.
Possibly a faulty coolant pump.
Something must not have went back together correctly when replacing the heater core. Looks like someone has to do the job over again.
Start by looking at the control doors under the dash. It sounds like the door system is closing for some reason.
the cold breeze starts at land, when it is at sea it becomes warm. Then it blows back to land where it becomes cold again
check your freon level. you might need to fill it back up. also your thermostat might be going out. does it ever over heat?
The heater core is probley stoped up. You can try this and it might work. Just switch the hose's on the heater core and then go drive it and see if you get heat. Just be sure engine is COLD before you switch the hose's. If that don't fix your heat, Then PLEASE ask your question again. When you get back from driving it let it cool back off and then put the hose's back where they were and drive it again.
Yes it can.
Yes, have had a problem with the heat since last winter. They finally diagmosed that it might be the heater core. Back heat is working perfect, front heat blows luke warm air. There's $850 that I didn't need to spend.
About ten and four minutes
