Why does my pet duck stick its head under its wing while asleep Does its bill get cold?

Many different birds do this to sleep. Mainly it's to rest the neck muscles, they are laying their heads on their backs. The beaks just go under the wing because of the positioning really, it's also so they can better consume heat on the colder nights
