try changing your thermostat.

Have you checked the thermostat gauge on the dashboard. Is it operating at normal levels or staying on the "c" for cold. Look at how the gauge is registering next time you are out and have driven long enough for the motor to warm up.
AFAIK, there has never been a 22 gauge shotgun. 20 and 24 yes, but no 22. A 20 gauge would put a small hole in a ceiling, depending on how construced and the type of ammunition use. Caliber refers to rifles and handguns. A 22 caliber will not do what you mention.
The 20-gauge shell will fall into the barrel and lodge. When a properly fitting 12-gauge shell is chambered and fired, it will blow up the barrel and you will have a very bad day.

That would be "blow by". Some blow by is normal. It is the amount of combustion that bypasses the rings. If the amount is enough to actually feel you may have an internal engine problem.
