Throttle plate may be stuck - try to free with a screwdriver
there is black knob on side of carbs turn clockwise to increase rpms
Roughly 800 RPMS while in park and roughly 600 RPMS while in drive or reverse
There is an adjustment screw that sits against the "dashpot" and you turn it right (in) to lower the idle and left (out) to raise the rpms.
350 cu in with 2 barrel carb, 8 degrees at 1100 rpms 350 cu in with 4 barrel carb and standard transmission, 8 degress at 1100 rpms 350 cu in with 4 barrel carb and automatic transmission, 12 degrees at 1100 rpms
You have a vacum leak. A big one. Check all your hoses. Idle should be under 1k rpms
Either the throtle cable is hanging or the idle control solonoid is not working
Most cars are anywhere between 750-800 rpms
It should idle at aprox 650 rpms warmed up.

If you have an engine that idles at 6000 rpms, you need to have it checked - immediately. Around 750 rpms would be normal.
You might want to chech your idle air bypass valve it is located next to the throttle posision sensor. They uild up with carbon and do not want to work properly
