High officials in the government of Iran have publicly announced their intention to wipe Israel off of the map. There are many who consider that public statement to have been a monologue, un-peaceful, and not instigated by Israel.

The Saudis and other Sunni Muslims see Israel as less of a threat than Iran and are willing to reconcile with Israel in secret over this issue.
