The 430 years refers specifically to the sojourning IN A STRANGE LAND, the land that Abraham stepped on from the onset of the covenant, of which a portion of that time was in Egypt. The sojourning in Egypt took place upon his grandson Jacob's arrival with his family of seventy people, via Joseph, of which their actual bondage was less than 150 of those years.
