probly a door senser does not fully disengage and ther for drains battery.
AnswerCould be a bad battery. Something staying on maybe and draining it like a door light or glovebox light.
check alternator could be going bad as well get the car started & un do the negative battery terminal if the car dyes its the alternator if it stays running your good!.... maybe a dead cell in the battery
I had the same problem, and it was because the air compressor never shut off (there was a leak in the system somewhere). If you hear it running for more than a few minutes, you can disengage it by unplugging it under the hood. In my RWD, the compressor was near the cabin, on the passenger's side.
There are a few reasons why a battery may drain overnight on a 1987 Cadillac Fleetwood. One reason could be the alternator needs replaced.
Bad battery or a parasitic drain
Something else can be on. A interior, trunk, under-hood, glove box light. Also a relay may be stuck. It can also be the battery has a dead cell which will drain it overnight.
A dead cell in the battery will cause it to loose it's charge overnight. The only fix is to replace the battery. Any light that is staying on will drain the battery. Also a stuck relay will drain the battery.
Happened to my 97. The alternator went out. Had to replace it and get a new battery. No problems since.
Dead cell in the battery which requires a new battery. Something can be on drawing power from the battery. Under-hood, glove box, trunk, dome light, etc. A relay that is stuck will also drain the battery.
Either the battery is not fine and has a dead cell, or something is on pulling power from the battery. Any light on or stuck relay will drain the battery overnight.
It can be a dead cell in the battery causing the drain. Disconnect the negative battery cable overnight. If the battery is dead the next morning it has a dead cell and needs replacing. It can also be any light that is staying on overnight. Under hood, trunk, glove box, dome light, etc. It can also be a relay that is stuck.
I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM ON MY 1994 VANDEM plas. It was my altenator belt was not tight enough to maintain a full charge. It took me two years to find the problem. It can also be the battery has a dead cell which will drain it overnight. Can also be some light is staying on and pulling power from the battery. Also a stuck relay will drain the battery. Loose or corroded connections is another possibility.
lights being on all night....radio...electronic matters such as so...
Good possibility
A stuck relay in the car can drain the battery. A dead cell in the battery itself will drain the battery overnight. If this is the case the battery must be replaced as there is no way to fix it. To find out disconnect the negative battery cable for around 8 hours. If the battery goes dead it has a dead cell. If not then something is draining the battery. Anyplace that sells batteries can test the battery for you.
