Its yours how should we know?
the most common cause is a dull blade, resharpening / replacing the blade should solve this.
reinstalling after blade exchange
I changed the blade belt on my Murray mower. Now one blade stops and goes. If I lower the deck the blade stop . What did I do wrong?
probably center blade on deck is jambed, or blade is broken and or missing I am having the same problem with may 42" Scott's riding mower. The blades are new (there are only 2 blades , no center blade) and are installed properly. The belt is also new and installed properly. The uncut middle area is more predominant in thicker or taller grass. In the center of the front of the mowing deck is a roller (to keep the deck from bottoming out ) which may be causing the grass to flatten and not be cut. If anyone else has had this problem and has a solution I would be interested in it.
The deck on a lawn mower is the shaped metal shroud that keeps the spinning blade(s) from being exposed to the user during operation. Many manufactures use the shape of the deck to create a mild vacuum that draws the blades of grass up toward the mower blade(s). After mowing the lawn, some grass will be stuck on the underside of the deck. If the lawn is somewhat long and wet, the grass will build up on the inner surface of the deck to a point where only the blade(s) have clearance. This stops the deck shape from performing its designed function. Deck cleanout is performed while the mower is NOT running. Turn the mower on its side and scrape the excess grass from out of the underside of the deck.
check oil, the engine could be frozen. check under deck there coud be stuff around your crankshaft, check if blade is catching on deck, check for bent crank or blade, sheared flywheel key
adj the height adjusters wheels on a push mower. a rider will have a deck adj generally labeled 1-6
its below the the upper and above the lower, It's the part you bolt the motor to and the blade is under.
if its a rider you remove the deck, turn it over, clamp the old blade in place, & get a large wrench to fit the nut holding on the blade(s). if you have one, use an impact wrench. remove old blade(s) after you remove the nut. take off old blade and put on new one. replace nut and reinstall the deck. if its a pusher just turn mower on its side and use above instructions.hope this helped and good luck
84 inch
blade needs sharpening,or belt is slipping for mower deck.
It will give you extra cutting width with out increasing the front to backdimension . In other words you can have a 72" cut without having a deck that is 36" front to back.
