There might be a picture of this under the hood. Alot of GM's have this. It is possible that the engine mount will have to be removed for this depending on what engine you have .

I have a 95, had a misfire... mine was because of the plug wires... changed the wires and plugs mis fire stopped...

I'm not sure exactly what your asking, but the entire chasis of the vehicle is considered 'grounded', because of the ground connection at the battery.
