I am having a similar issue with my 01. try spraying down all the latches on every door, including rear hatch, use as much spray as needed and get them all clean. open and close every door several times to make sure the rust breaks off and the spray does its job by lubricating everything. then drive it around and see if it stays off. if not then a latch is bad. cheapest way is to just turn off all the interior dome lights manually so your battery does not drain.
