Because the oil pressure is dropping below a pre-determined point at idle. Might have the oil sending unit checked ... could be (rare) that your oil pump is not running at peak efficiency. If that is true, then you are also not getting enough oil circulation when the engine is running at highway speeds.

I am having the same issue AFTER replacing the torque converter and switch in the transmission. My check engine light was coming on with the transaxle light and the code read to replace these items BUT the transaxle light is still coming on. I am still trying to get an answer on this!
