Why does the population of foreigners outnumber citizens in some countries on the Arabian peninsula?

The countries (Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates) have a very high per capita income, but comparatively low populations. Much of the labor force within these countries consists of workers brought in from other countries, including India, Pakistan, Nepal, Indonesia, and Bangladesh.
There are several reasons why this remains true.
1) Citizenship Laws in Saudi Arabia: It is very difficult to become a citizen of Saudi Arabia. Whereas a person can apply for citizenship in New Zealand after only five years and receive it instantly, a person needs to wait ten years before applying in Saudi Arabia, and even after that it is an arduous process.
2) Jobs Saudis Won't Do: There are numerous jobs in many sectors of Saudi Arabia that Saudis will not bring themselves to do. Therefore, as in the US, there is a large labor pool that is willing to do those jobs to feed their families.
3) Lack of Large Saudi Population: A desert does not sustain a large quantity of people without modern technology. As a result, the Saudi endemic population is rather small.
