Because the Earth is tilted relative to its orbit, the noon sun appears to move higher and lower as the Earth moves around the sun.

This changes the angle of the sun as it hits the Earth and is one primary reason for the seasons.

As the noon sun gets higher the place the sun rise and sun set move north. This apparent movement makes the path the sun follows longer and longer through the sky.

This change in the number of daylight hours is the other reason for the change in seasons.

Is time related to the orbit of earth?

Time is related to the orbit of the Earth as well as the Earth's rotation around the Sun. This is because as the Earth rotates on its own axis we are moving from what is considered daytime and nigh time. Daytime being when there is sunlight and night time when there is no sunlight. It takes 24 hours for the Earth to complete one rotation. As the Earth turns on its axis, it is also orbiting the Sun, this helps to create our seasons. The seasons are determined by how close or how far any hemisphere is from the sun. It takes 365 days for the Earth to complete an orbit around the Sun.
