Water freezes faster than milk, root beer, apple juice and apple cider because the liquid (water) is not as thick as lets say milk. |Even though apple juice is sorta like water, the apple flavouring in it hold some kind of chemical that makes it thicker. But if you want a frozen juice box i suggest freezing it in the freezer over night.

There is no Chemical Reaction involved in the freezing of apple juice. It is purely a Physical change. However, if the apple juice has fermented into hard cider (a Chemical Reaction) freezing it will cause the alcohol to separate as Apple Jack (a liquid) and the remainder of the cider will solidify ... again a Physical change.

In the United States, they're the same thing: they're both apple juice. What's labeled "apple juice" has been processed to remove the cloudiness. The only difference is appearance.
