CHECK YOUR FUEL PUMP RELAY! One posibility is you need a better ground from your altanator to your regulator. Add a ground wire from the altanator to your regulator it cheap and eazy to do. It fixed a problem I had that when I turned on the head lights with the engine running the engine died. Bad ground do many bad things that are hard to identify.

Could be a vacuum leak. I'm not too familiar with that engine, but check all the air hoses, the PCV system, EGR and all that.... Also, change the charcoal cannister.
The fuel pump is located next to the tank behind the right rear tire.
