Why does your 1997 Lincoln Continental car alarm go off for no reason day or night?

This works! It is the cold causing the issue. The 2 wires come to a connector located under the liner about 6 inches from the latch. You can simply unplug the connector, and have no remote trunk access, or do what I did:determine which wire is for the trunk by disconnecting the connector, then use a jumper wire on 1 side to test, Push trunk button> if it clicks that's it. Here's the best part: you can simply turn the connector over, and only plug in 1/2 of it! It works with no muss or fuss!(so far!)

We had that problem and it was a sensor in the trunk that triggered the alarm when the temperature good to low (cold). We ended up disengaging the trunk sensor.
