if you put in a new fuel pump and the fuse still blows check the fuel relay under the hood on the firewall,,its oval in shape,,,, disconect the relay and turn the engine over if the fuse doesnt blow then the relay is bad,,if it does then you have a short in the wire harness its easy to follow from the fuel pump to the relay good luck
Not sure why blowing but if you can look in owners manual or chiltons to see what else is on the same circuit for example fuse #2 may have fuel pump and cigar lighter on the same circuit and if something metal falls into cigar lighter it will blow the fuse each time a new fuse is put in. Hope it helps. Also on my 1989 Chevy 2500 I had the same problem and I had a short in some wiring running along the driver side frame rail by the fuel filter.
It looks like any of the fuses in the fuse block, however it is not in the fuse block. The fuel pump fuse is near the fuel pump relay on the driver side strut tower.
there is no fuel shut off for your cavalier but if you look in the fuse panel inside your car or under the hood you might find a relay or a fuse marked fuel pump and that should shut it off
Open the glove compartment and look in back, there should be a access door for the fuel pump relay.
fuse won't be connected together, you'll see a gap.
Look on the Heater Box on the passenger side. The manual says on firewall, but it is on the heater box.
The fuel pump relay is located in the rear fuse block. Open the trunk and look in the drivers side rear quarter area, the rear fuse block may be behind a panel. The relay would be number 37 and the fuel pump fuse is number 25.
Look on the backside of the fuse cover case. if the diagram is not there i suggest calling a Chevy dealer. goodluck
look in your owners manual.
It is in the fuse panel under the hood on the feft front wheel well. Look under the cover and in will tell you what number it is. more then likely you are going to need a fuel pump.
Look under the hood in the fuse box. It is a 15amp.
