check engine timing sticking brakes can also cause overheating
follow top radiator hose to intake. at the end of the radiator hose is the neck. theres two bolts pull the the neck off. that is where your thermostat is
very simple. follow the radiator hose on the drivers side from the radiator to the motor. that metal peice that the pipe is clamped on is the thermostat housing. theres 2 bolts holding it down. easiest to leave the hose on the housing and just remove the bolts. there is your thermostat.
if you have a 2.5 the thermostat is located underneat the engine follow your lower radiator hose to it theres going to be 2 bolts i believe it is to romove the housing as soon as you have removed the housin the thermostat is right there
you need a diagram for the housing? theres nothing to diagram its possibly the simplist part on the whole car
lower radiator hose assy theres an ugly aluminum thing that's a 2 part housing which contains the tstat ...drivers front lower
Hi my sportage model 2000 cant start its seem like theres no battery, can anyone advise how to solve it..... thx guys
first make sure you have coolant in your radiator, and if theres coolant and its still not working check your thermostat it may be stuck shut and not letting water into the engine
Theres a drain plug at the bottom of the radiator.. or you can undo the bottom hose..
theres no cap on radiator~ it is filled through the recovery tank on the fender well.
check your radiator, fan and coolant levels. There may be a crack in your radiator. your water pump may not be working, you may have a water leak you just haven't found yet in a hose or radiator. make sure you're puttinjg enough water in your coolant jug after you refilled it and cranked it up because the water will go down after running for awhile or check your oil stick and make sure theres no whitish bubbles mixed in with your oil because that could indicate that water is mixing with your oil... not a good sighn at all... that means your heads in your motor are cracked or hopefully just warped.
locate the TOP radiator hose and follow it to the engine block. it will be at the end of that line and have electrical wire going to it. probably 2 bolts to remove and the housing will pull off. Viola, theres ya thermostat.AnswerIt also depends on which year and model, like 93 GS300 the thermostat is located on the side engine block follow it to the BOTTOM radiator hose. It has only two bolts to remove. On a 94 ES 300, the thermostat is located at the end of the bottom radiator hose and is mounted to the engine block by three 10mm nuts. I highly recommend getting the thermostat from the dealer. I tried one from Kragen and it didn't fit as tight and was very flimsy compared to the OEM.
its in front of the radiator, usually theres 2
