Upper ball joints need replaced
From your description it sounds as if your front struts (shock absorbers) are worn out and in need of replacement.
possibly your front upper control arm bushing are out.
There is many different techniques, one is just to sound it out, and figure it out from there. Another way (the way i figure it out) is by feeling the front of your neck, where the bump is, or anywhere in the front, and count how many times you hear the vibration, for example Taco you'll here a vibration a pause and another vibration, thus meaning 2 syllables
There is a possibility that some bushels or mountings need replacing.
put a new brake pad on it.

the first thing you should do is take the truck to your local tire shop and have your tires balanced. while on the balancer look at the tire to make sure it is round. the bump may have bent the wheel or broken a belt in the tire it self. the tire shop will also check the front end You have worn suspension or steering parts. Inspect them ASAP. You may have bent a wheel rim. That happen a lot on 94-02 It is called the Dodge Death Wobble This is the first I have heard of on a 1st gen. The king pins are probably wore out. Maybe a tie rod is bad. This happened on my 1997 3500 Dodge Cummins and a tie rod had quite a bit of play in it. Had it replaced and had no more of that.
Possibly, the ball joint is bad or a bad strut, but I would have the ball joint checked first.
You need a steering stabalizer and if you have one it may need to be replaced.
The balance would be the first think. but if ur tires is old or it was flat for a while there will be a little bump on the side that will make its vibrate. do a balance first. if the problem will not be solved then change ur wheels put front on the back and rear in front but dont drive it if the steering wheel will shake. change it back
They put bump stickers on the outside of their truck
Unscrew it.
