I should have bought the 750 model. They don't leak coolant. (as often). However they still carry the old name "Gay Blade" The other Honda riders in the club give me a hard time but I know I am straight. My wife refuses to ride with me though as she heard the same stories when she was growing up. Her father insists she not ride on it for this reason. Very much a redneck. I still love my bike though...but not as much as my wife. Frank. Fairbanks, AK
Coolant should not be leaking from your transmission the only fluid in your transmission is transmission fluid. A faulty transmission seal can allow transmission fluid to leak out.
You have a coolant leak. You have a coolant leak.
Check if it is consuming coolant or there is oil in the coolant. If either of these is true, you probably have a coolant leak or a bad head gasket, or a crack in your block or head. If not, you probably have a sticking thermostat.
Because some opening formed which is allowing coolant to leak out.
The coolant will normally leak into the oil or into the cylinder
Any coolant leak can cause an overheat.Any coolant leak can cause an overheat.
Yes, the water pump can leak if you do a coolant flush.
If you do not visibly see a coolant leak, have the cooling system pressure tested. If the leak is not obvious it could be internal.
In general, yes a coolant leak in a 2002 Bonneville can be fixed. The issue whether it is worth the money to fix the leak. If the coolant is leaking from an upper or lower coolant hose, the repair is simple and inexpensive. If the coolant leak is from the radiator, it will be a bit more difficult and/or expensive to repair. Moving up the scale, if the coolant leak is coming from a manifold gasket, it will be still more expensive. Likewise for a coolant leak from the heater core. And at the upper end of the scale, if you are leaking coolant from a cracked engine block, you're looking at replacing the engine.
If it had no leaks it would not be loosing coolant. So therefore it does have a leak. It can be leaking in a spot where the coolant burns away before dripping on the ground. Also a blown head gasket is a possibility. Look for coolant in the oil. A heater core can leak. Do you smell coolant inside the car or are the windows fogging up or developing a film. You need to have a pressure test run on the cooling system and find this leak.
why does the coolant only leak when engine is off on my 1999 grand am?
A coolant leak on a 93 cavalier could be anyplace where coolant flows. Check all hoses, connections, the radiator, and heater core for any possible leak spots.
