Coolant should not be leaking from your transmission the only fluid in your transmission is Transmission Fluid. A faulty transmission seal can allow transmission fluid to leak out.
coolant leak between motor and transmission indicates you have a leaky freeze plug in the rear of the engine block
transmission cooling system failure. transmission has its own little, circle-like looking radiator (located on top of the transmission), and if it has a little crack or if it has a leak in the gasket it will mix transmission fluid with the coolant. good luck!
It is possible for coolant to leak out between the motor and transmission, if a freeze plug has been leaking. I had this problem on an old International Travelall I had. The motor will need to be pulled.
If the transmission is low on ATF because of an ATF leak, yes. It is not good for the transmission to be used while low on ATF. If the leak is engine coolant, no.
how can i check the transmmission fluid?
You have a coolant leak. You have a coolant leak.
The automatic transmission oil cooler is built into the radiator. If the oil cooler developes a leak the oil mixes with the engine coolant.
Because there is a fracture or loose connection
Check if it is consuming coolant or there is oil in the coolant. If either of these is true, you probably have a coolant leak or a bad head gasket, or a crack in your block or head. If not, you probably have a sticking thermostat.
Coolant Capacity, Quarts:Man. Transmission 4.76 Auto. Transmission 4.6
bad or old seals, this is a common problem on all aging vehicles.
Because some opening formed which is allowing coolant to leak out.
