If you have recently purchased light bulbs for your light, it is probably because you have bought the wrong voltage bulb. There are several different types of MagLites and each one must match the voltage of the batteries to the voltage of the bulb.
For example: If you bought a 3v bulb (2-cell) and put it in a 4-C Maglite, you'll blow the bulb
(4 batteries x 1.5v = 6v total)
There are two types of brand-name bulbs for incandescent (non-LED) Maglites. The original OEM bulb was a Krypton bulb and the newer, brighter bulbs are Xenon. They are available for all two through six cell C and D size Maglite flashlights.
Krypton bulbs
LWSA201 - 2-Cell Krypton
LWSA301 - 3-Cell Krypton
LWSA401 - 4-Cell Krypton
LWSA501 - 5-Cell Krypton
LWSA601 - 6-Cell Krypton
Xenon bulbs
LMSA201 - 2-Cell Xenon
LMSA301 - 3-Cell Xenon
LMSA401 - 4-Cell Xenon
LMSA501 - 5-Cell Xenon
LMSA601 - 6-Cell Xenon
See the "Related Links" for examples of each
The function of the bulb in a flashlight is to generate some light when some electrical current passes through it. Note: That's actually the whole purpose of the flashlight. If there were no part of it that generated any light, then you do just as well without the flashlight altogether.
bulb, flashlight, fluroscent light are some examples of light energy
Battery (chemical energy) goes to the wires (electrical energy) which goes to the light bulb (thermal and electromagnetic energy. In the bulb of a traditional flashlight, electric current energy is transformed to heat and then partially to light, when the temperature of the filament in the bulb is sufficient. In an LED type flashlight, little heat is produced and more of the electrical current energy is transformed into light.
The switch in the "on" position closes the circuit, and the electricity flows through the flashlight bulb. This is a Study Island answer
Because the bulb is blown, the batteries are flat/absent or there is a problem with the circuitry.
The Maglite flashlight includes a high performance LED bulb which is brighter and more energy efficient. This means that the battery will last longer.
Well they are suppose to give off the same light, say in wattage, but they use less power, and generally cost more. Most LED's, have a rating to match a regular bulb. Say, a led flashlight, is marked as equal to a 50w bulb. On the maglight website, they do not list wattage or lumens , so you have to assume that both mini mags are equal in light produced.
The bulb produces the light.
Flashlight is mobile light, can be removable and put in pocket! But light bulb is just in a unchangeable location or a limite distance.
One can purchase a Maglite bulb from Staples, Walmart, and Costco. Maglite bulbs also sell at home construction retail stores such as Home Depot and Lowe's.

A light bulb and a flashlight are the same basically. However if you`ve ever looked at the front of a flashlight ( dont do this when its on) you will see that the front is mirrored. So a does actually shine light in all directions but the mirrors reflect the light so as to send it forward where as the light from a light bulb is unobstructed.
Need clarification please. The "it" you are referring to seeing, does that represent; A) the flashlight, B) the light from the flashlight, or C) "the speed of light"? Did you mean to imply that the flashlight was switched on? Is it an "old fashioned" bulb, an LED bulb, a laser light, or some other energy? Just wondering.

Because to much electricity is getting through to the light bulb.
