get ur coolin temp sensor checked it should work and the light will stop coming on
Drive it for a few days and log some miles on it and the check engine light may go out. Mine used to set a check engine light on really hot days here in the desert. I was told then engine and the computer have to go thru x amoutn of cycles and if the problem doesn't show up during those cycles, the check engine light will turn off. Enevtually the light came on to stay and my problem turned out to be a weak fuel pump.
Could be in need of a oxygen censor
Check for loose or worn serpentine or drive belts.
I just bought a 2001 s500. The person I bought it from told me that if I let the gas get too low or did not tighten the gas cap properly, the "check engine" light would come on. Well, about two weeks after I purchased the vehicle I let the gas get a little low and sure enough the "check engine" light came on. I filled it up with gas and the "check engine" light stayed on. I got worried. Finally after two days of being on it just went out by itself. Has not come back on since.
Check your temperature gauge. If it shows the engine is running in the normal range then there could be a problem with the "air door" that controls how much air is brought in through the heater core. Or the core itself is plugged and needs to be flushed out. If the guage shows the engine is running cold , then you should have the thermostat replaced.
yes if the gas cap wasn't on properly then the change in pressure would set off a sensor. put the cap on right or replace it and if the check engine goes away after a few days that was your problem
There are pages and pages of things that can cause a check engine light. You need to have it checked with a scantool. Then the code can be diagnosed and repaired.
how can ss check come on nov31,if there is no nov 31 ,
The gas cap message can come up on the dash when there is a large vapor leak from the fuel tank. You need to check all of the vacuum lines going from the engine to the tank.

Most likely a speed sensor at one of the front wheels has attachment broken.
It lasts longer on cold days.
