There are pages and pages of things that can cause a check engine light. You need to have it checked with a scantool. Then the code can be diagnosed and repaired.
You can reset it with your OBD reader or you can disconnect the negative battery cable for a couple of minutes to reset the check engine light.
I have a 98 mystique, and when the check engine light comes on, I simply disconnect the positive battery terminal for a couple of minutes. When I replace it, the check engine light is cleared. It resets the computer.
Did you reset the Check Engine light? If not, reset by disconnecting the negative battery cable for a couple of minutes. This will erase the computer. Reconnect the battery cable and if everything is OK, the Check Engine light should be off.

If you just cleaned the EGR and replaced it, you can turn off the Check Engine Light (CEL) by disconnecting the negative battery cable for a couple of minutes. The engine may run rough for a few miles until it "re-learns". If the CEL comes back on, take the vehicle to AutoZone for a free scan. If the code still indicates a faulty EGR, it may have to be replaced.
I had all sensors replaced in my 03 Trailblazer and the check engine light stiil comes on. Why?

A clogged or defective fuel filter will very likely cause a check engine light. If it is suspected, it should be replaced.
