There is a collar in the front of the transmission ( bellhousing ) that the throw-out bearing slides on when you push the clutch pedal down and let off.
It more then likely has a bad were grove cut into it and throw-out bearing is hanging up on it, so it makes a popping noise. You may even have some springs broken in the pressure plate. Need to remove transmission and clutch assy. Be sure to check piolet
bearing in the back of crankshaft too.
Some symptoms of a faulty clutch: - when you depress the clutch and press the gas (when changing gears) an used clutch will "slip" (maybe even make noise) and the car will accelerate slower than normal - when the gearbox is in neutral, some vibrations could be felt or some abnormal sounds could be heard
You need to use the clutch and the shifter smoothly together!
u gotta use the clutch m8
It can be the clutch, it doesn't work properly. And check the transmission fluid level. Sad news is that if it's the clutch you will have to replace it as soon as possible.
Difficulty engaging gears and noise when actually engaging
If it's a manual transmission, it might be the throwout bearing. However, this noise would only occur with the clutch pushed in. If it does it after you let the clutch out then it might just be an accessory belt that needs tightening.
check the u-joints in the drive shaft first
That is your clutch flywheel going, basically you need a whole new clutch system which is very expensive, the clicks will get more loud and more frequent
== == If the noise occurs while shifting gears, the gear shift shaft underneath the car could be tapping on the exhaust. This problem is caused by a shifter that has too much play. To fix this, there is a rubber clasp holding the shaft in place, buy a new rubber clasp if the one you have is worn and loose. This is the solution I have found. If the noise occurs while clutch is released, well, then your're on your own!
Replace the speakers. Adjust the Fade/Balance and listen to find which speaker is popping. The popping noise is most likely from a broken cone in the speaker
Cracks in the clutch disk will cause the noise and a wore syncronizer in will not allow gear to mesh, more so in cold weather.
It depends on where the grinding noise is coming from. Most of the time the grinding is coming from the brakes and the brake pads need to be replaced. If they've been grinding for a while, the rotors will need to be resurfaced or replaced. Other possibilities for grinding are worn axle bearings, or a problem with the clutch. If the clutch goes out, there will be a grinding noise when you try to shift gears.
