Thanks for your interest. Yes, when you rev car engine while driving keep your foot on the brake the time of revving it up, but remove it before dropping the shifter into gear if you want to slide around as you leave the area. Put it in neutral rev and back in gear, go as fast as you want. Here always need a practical performance. So be careful.
On a 1994 Buick LaSabre why does the engine continue to rev up while driving even when the brake is applied ? or when driving why doesn't the engine return to idle when the brake is applied? I would check for a vacuum leak
short answer; yes. I cant remember the exact reason, but I do remember that this is the case.
maybe your riding the clutch
When driving a stick shift, you shift up as the engine begins to rev in each gear. You will downshift as the engine begins to slow.
start the engine and press the gas pedal while it is in park
malfunction? Did you turn the car off?
If the engine running you hear the engine rev up. Describe noise, is it when in park or when driving? Does it hurt the performance of the vehicle?
The RPM rev up when driving because of the way your car's transmission works. Essentially, the transmission is responsible for sending power from the engine to the wheels. The transmission's job is to change the RPMs that the engine is sending, so that the wheels can turn at the correct speed. When you accelerate, the transmission increases the RPMs that the engine is sending to the wheels to provide more power. The faster you accelerate, the more the RPMs will increase. This is why you hear the RPM rev up when you are accelerating.
The engine will have difficulty in performing correctly!!
if the engine isn't reved enough it will stall
I would like to know that myself. I have a 1990 2.4L Caravan. I put in a used tranny when the other failed. a Month later it started to bog down while driving. It only happens when the engine heats up. Then I have to floor it to get to speed and it still acts like the engine cuts out and comes back and cuts out again. I stand on the brake while in gear and give it gas and it starts to stumble. Put it in park and rev it and the engine runs fine. I am wondering if it isn't the shift solenoid?
when i am driving my toyato 2001 Eaco stops running, it will start back up
