If it flickers, chances are that the switch has gone bad.
It's a $30-$40 OEM Part. Strangely. the Non-OEM Part costs 2.5 times as much.

The problem is the reverse light switch. It is located on the top of the transmission that should sloved your problem.

Try bypassing the reverse light switch that plugs into the transmission. If your reverse lights come on, voila! Problem solved. Buy a new switch.

Chck to see if the stop lights are working. Shift interlock and stop lights are a common circuit. If stop lights do not work check the fuses. Try turng the key to 1st (unlock) position then shift to neutral to start the shift to Drive

presuming you've checked all the fuses and relays theres a sender switch on the transmission should have 2 wires attached to it.. make sure the wires are not disconnected or damaged

There is a backup switch in the gearbox. When you shift into reverse, the gear box switch contacts the switch and lights the white reverse lights. If you find that the reverse lights don't work it could be that the switch is not being triggered by the mechanism inside the gearbox. This is providing that everything else is working; wiring,bulbs,etc.
