I have a 1999 1500 Dodge ram 5.2 engine. As i am driving and pressing the gas . i have to let off the gas so the gears will shift. when coming to a hill, it will barely even pull.
When the cold transmission slips when shifting in the second gear, it means that either the fluid level is not correct or the filters are faulty. When this happens, your gearbox may need extensive repair or may need replacement.
You probably have a slipping clutch band in your transmission. Take it to a transmission shop.
You either need a new transmission or get it rebuild..
get it service.
Mine doesn't just stick...sometimes it slips without even needing to push in the button. Do not buy it. My transmission went at about 69000 kms. It was bought second hand but still..... 69000 kms?!
You could be low on transmission fluid. The same thing happened to me.
"I have a Mirage 94. When it gets hot, the transmission slips."
Transmission Flush help my Ford! Same issue here.
As it heats up, it slips more.
Low transmission fluid and/or fluid leak.
Yes, have the fluid and filter changed.
start by checking the transmission fluid level when the vehicle is at normal operating temp
