They do not see the woman as a truly equal partner who should aspire to have her own business, manage employees, practice medicine or law, or perform any serious work outside of the home. Since education provides women with the strength to achieve these objectives the Taliban ban it.
Additionally, education introduces "Western" ideas of a woman's place in society, because it is secular. They see this as promoting immorality among girls and claim that it will lead to more teen pregnancies and rapes.
