It's possible to, but since as of this writing, you can file share thru various apps and software. Dropbox, Box, Google Drive and others allow for file sharing as well.

Right-click it in My Computer or Computer and select Properties to open the Properties dialog box. Then Click the Advanced button.

One can archive an mdf file relatively easily if one knows how. To do so, one must right click on the file, click on properties, and then click on the box that says "Archive" by it.
Click on the file in question, right click -> choose properties. Select required choice for that file and tick the box "always do this for the selected program"
